Waiting! - 2/2

Posted by Bishop (Houston, United States) on 3 November 2009 in Miscellaneous and Portfolio.

I went to the open air Miller Theater in Houston a few months ago for the 4th of July concert and fireworks show. It was still very early but this group of people had already arrived and staked a place on the top of the hill for the best viewing position. So... which one do you prefer? This version or the one from yesterday?

For those of you who haven't been following my posts for long, I'd love you to go back in time and check out some of my older pics in my portfolio (thanks, Anne, for the idea!) - would love to read your opinions about them! Be brutally honest if you think I deserve it! :)
.
My apologies for not being able to respond individually to all comments - the number of comments have increased lately (very happy about that!); also, I have just been told that I will be laid off at the end of this month! (So any leads on future work will indeed be greatly appreciated!) Please be assured, though, that each comment received acts as another drop of nourishment to my soul and I very much appreciate all your visits.

Oee... good question! Both are beautiful in their own way. If I have to choose I'll probably go for the B&W, but that's personal :)

Good idea to post it in B&W, my fav : more timeless and elegant, love it even more*

eme chiquilla from córdoba, Spain

first i thought i liked more the coloured one, but i've realized that in this one, we can appreciate better the clouds in the sky. So finally i think i choose this in b&w :)

Pepe Cabrera from Cuidad de Antipolo, Philippines

I don't know which one is more beautiful, Colors or B&W. I love them!

LESLIE from norwich, United Kingdom

Super processing into B & W but i prefer the color image

Earnest from Oklahoma, United States

I like this on the best because the colors don't detract the mind from the situation. When I viewed the other one the colors and patterns took all my thoughts instead of the caption -- well illustrated here.

hmmmmm, hard decision to make...but...this one is my favorite :)

completely fantastic!

Ajay from Pune, India

You put black and white after the colour one which is obviously giving more impact. Smart.

4 Nov 2009 1:23am

@Ajay: Yes, it was intentional - although I like this version on its own, too! In the color version the slightly washed out tones of the sky and the grass are what catch my eye. :)

willow from Chelsea, United States

I have to admit I like the color version more. I just love those colors that scream SUMMER!!!!

Bill from Pacific Northwest, United States

I prefer the B&W version. I thin with B&W the viewer has to bring more to the experience so it tends to be more engaging--for me at least.

Again, both are great! Each one with beauty of its own :))
